Why Our Windows Aren’t Just Designed For Aesthetic Purposes
The external finishes are so important for any new building, so that it can blend aesthetically into its surroundings and be personal to your taste and style. At Springfield, we offer a wide variety of external finishes, one type being windows tailored to you. Therefore, in this blog post we will take you through our vast variety of window options.
What Window Types Are Available?
Our windows come in a variety of shapes and sizes including:
- Square
- Round
- Picture windows
- Architectural windows
- Special shape
Furthermore, all of our windows come in a variety of colours. This means you can choose to blend in or stand out, but always create a unique modular building which is both stylish and practical. No matter what your style, specification and requirements we will do our best to create your ideal finished look.
What Features Can You Expect?
If you create a modular building with Springfield, you can be assured that all of our windows come with some standard features to create a safe, secure and warm environment in your new building. These include:
- UPVC – This form of plastic is low maintenance, recyclable, durable, rot resistant, provides thermal comfort, has open tilt and turn options and can provide acoustic installation. On top of this, as with any good window, high security is a priority.
- Pilkington “K” Glass – Pilkington K is a type of glass that has an intelligent low emissivity coating. This useful technology, used in double glazing, helps considerably in reducing the amount of energy required to heat a room. The energy saving capabilities can save the building owner money on energy bills.
- Double Glazing – A better level of insulation, noise reduction and security is provided through the use of double glazing. Reduced energy bills and interior damage is also a benefit alongside the production of very little condensation.
- Lockable Handles – No matter what your building will be used for, whether it be an office, nursery or sports centre, high-level security is essential.
What Additional Features Can You Opt For?
On top of the standard features, there is also the option to add additional features to your windows to add even more personalisation to your building. You can choose from a combination of the below:
- Tinted – To help prevent the sun’s glare and UV rays from entering the building.
- Trickle Vents – These can be fitted to windows to provide the whole building with ventilation and provide air to the extract fans. This will aid the removal of odours and humidity.
- Argon Filled – Argon is used to increase the energy efficiency and general performance of thermal windows. Gases like argon are preferable to air because air contains moisture that can condense on the inside of the glass units, making the window cloudy. Argon filled windows bring the temperature of the window closer to room temperature.
- Solar Tinted – Having solar tinted windows helps eliminate hot spots in the building, regulates the amount of light entering each room and reduces glare on computer screens.
- Laminated – Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer between its two or more layers of glass.
- Toughened – Toughened glass is up to five times stronger than regular glass and is specially treated so that it will break into small, blunt pieces under pressure, making it much safer than shards of normal glass.
