In the UK planning permission is a regulation used to guide the way towns, cities and countrysides are developed. The factors considered are:
- the use of land and buildings
- the appearance of buildings
- landscaping
- highway access
- environmental impact of changes
Do You Need Planning Permission For A Modular Building?
Yes, all modular buildings require planning permission. But this is not something to worry about, as Springfield are able to offer a full turnkey service and undertake this on your behalf.
Planning requirements state that regardless of size, any building or structure in place over 28 days has to have planning approval.

Outbuildings such as sheds, garages, greenhouses and some other structures are often considered to be permitted development. But, if you’re unsure the best advice we can give is to have research around it.
Do Modular Buildings Need To Comply With Building Regulations?
Yes, modular buildings do need to meet all current Building Regulations, including Part L2. All our buildings are made in accordance with current UK Building Regulations.
