CLIENT DETAILS:

Beechwood Primary School, is located in the heart of Crewe and the local community is very much involved with the school and support the school in many ways. It is a school that encompasses hard-working, happy children and staff. Members of staff work hand in hand towards the school’s vision and enable children to feel secure, valued, and able to grow into responsible individuals ready to embark on secondary education.

OVERVIEW:

F Parkinson are a construction company operating throughout the North of England delivering award-winning projects. They partner with public and private sector clients to provide construction solutions to all their clients. They were commissioned to replace an existing Nursery building with a modern new building offering a better range of facilities. Having worked with Springfield Mobile on similar buildings and experienced our ability to meet their high standards and reputation for on time, on budget projects we were approached to tender. Our previous performance and our industry-leading reputation for providing a wide choice of internal & external fittings along with attention to detail all delivered at competitive rates proved a compelling case for Parkinson to choose Springfield.

We then worked alongside Parkinson to meet the demanding specification provided by the school architects to ensure the buildings were available to coincide with the completion of the groundworks and delivered to enable installation during the school holiday period, removing the dangers posed by construction activity on a school site full of young, lively children.

KEY ISSUES FACED BY CLIENT:

This was a major project for the school, and they needed to be able to work with contractors that could handle the demolition of the existing building then deliver a turnkey project with every element of the job handled by Parkinson as main contractor and Springfield for the actual buildings. Parkinson handled all the groundworks to provide a suitable site for the installation of seven bays along with the provision of all utilities and Springfield worked with them to coincide production and installation. This removed all the worry and dangers from the school and its employees and delivered peace of mind knowing that they were in experienced hands.

WHAT SPRINGFIELD DID:

Worked with Parkinson to meet the demanding specification from Parkinson both in location and time frame. Met the external requirements for an aesthetically pleasing building that included a black finish and a combination of cedar and brick finish. This provided all the benefits and appearance of a traditional building at a fraction of the time and cost. We were able to accommodate the distinctive soft play area with the Perspex roof allowing plenty of light access and the plaster finish applied to the walls giving a luxury finish to the internal walls. Our, know how and history of meeting unusual specifications for schools helped accommodate all of the bespoke elements of the building.

SUMMARY & BENEFITS:

Parkinson & Springfield have together completed a major project and delivered a facility for the school to be proud of.

It provides a wide range of features to give the best possible start to the young children and offers a fit for purpose bright, welcoming, airy, light filled space that will provide a stimulating place to learn.

All our buildings meet building regulations are energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
