Celebrating Women at Springfield
This week, we celebrate International Women’s Day and Women in Construction Week, recognising the invaluable contributions that women make to the construction industry – including right here at Springfield.
Women in Modular Construction: A Key Part of Springfield’s Success
At Springfield, we’ve been designing and manufacturing modular buildings for over 50 years, and throughout that time, women have played a crucial role in our success. From various roles within the business, their expertise helps us deliver high-quality, bespoke buildings to schools, nurseries, businesses, and healthcare providers across the UK.
While construction has historically been a male-dominated industry, modular building offers opportunities across the board, and many women at Springfield contribute their skills and experience to make Springfield the company that it is today.

As the industry continues to evolve, it’s important to encourage more women to consider careers in construction. Equality and diversity is important to us, as it should be to any business, and it isn’t just a box-ticking exercise – businesses that encourage these are proven to have better performance in general so we’re keen to champion them as much as we can. While we know that we could always do more; with more training programmes, apprenticeships, and leadership opportunities, we hope to see even more women designing, manufacturing, and delivering innovative modular solutions in the years to come.
And so for International Women’s Day and for Women in Construction week, we take a moment to recognise and appreciate the women who make Springfield what it is. Their hard work and dedication help us deliver top-quality modular buildings that serve communities across the UK.
