How Quickly Will I Receive My Hired Modular Building?
Sourcing a building for your business can be a difficult and laborious process for decision makers. Whether you are in the market for a permanent expansion or a temporary spacing solution, you may be put off by the perceived difficulty of this process. This search however doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact, if you find a company who will offer a complete turnkey service – like Springfield, then most of these concerns are taken off your hands.

To help those individuals who may be scared off by the jargon filled world of manufacturing, we thought in this blog we would explore the process of hiring a modular building from Springfield and how quickly it can be delivered to your site.
How can I hire my modular building?
All of our clients are offered two options when it comes to choosing a modular building they wish to hire. The first is selecting a building from our hire fleet. This extensive catalogue consists of a wide variety of buildings which have previously been hired out, and have been returned to Springfield after its contract with the previous client came to an end. Although these buildings are already constructed, you are not restricted to what it can consist of. As we specialise in offering a completely bespoke service, all of the ‘off-the-shelf’ buildings in our fleet are fully customisable to ensure that we are able to meet our client’s requirements.
In the vein of customisation, we also offer our clients the option to create a new bespoke building to hire out. Although our team will need to review whether this is a feasible option, we relish the opportunity to design a completely bespoke building to meet the unique requirements of our clients.
Once your building has been secured or designed, we will then have to discuss the hiring contract for the building. Here at Springfield, we offer two types of contract. The first is a client-based contract whereby the client themselves will decide on a hiring period that best suits them. This can range from anywhere between three months and five years. The second contract type we offer is an open-ended contract, which doesn’t have a fixed length. All this type of contract requires is for the client to notify Springfield when they no longer need the building and we will come to take it away.
How is my building delivered?
If you choose a building which is part of our fleet, we can deliver this to you theoretically in a matter of days. If you choose a new building, this will need to be designed and built in our ISO-approved workshop before it is shipped out. All of our buildings are delivered by road on a flat-bed or Hi-Ab. This timeframe will of course vary from client to client, but if we already have the building in our fleet and the everything has been signed off, we can get the building delivered to your site in no time!
Do I need to prepare my site before the building is delivered?
There are however certain criteria that every client must meet before we can deliver a building. All buildings, no matter whether they are hired or purchased outright must have planning permission from your local authority. In addition, all buildings must comply with building regulations. There are also factors to consider when it comes to your site itself. No matter what building you choose, it will require adequate foundations or a level, hard standing area. The most suitable foundation will vary from site to site, from traditional foundations to ‘Jackpad’ temporary foundations.
